Simultaneity: For this edit we switched from a video of my cat to a video of a fish. The cat is thinking of the fish while eating. Both of these scenes are happening at the same time. The cat is outside of water just eating. The fish is inside a tank swimming around.

Parallelism: For this edit we filmed Kelly putting on a hoodie and then turning around. The video seamlessly switches to a video of Chiara who is facing backwards and then turns around to take the same hoodie off.

Leitmotiff: For this edit we filmed my mother waking up to a phone alarm. Then we switched to a video of my dad waking up to the same alarm sound. Both of these scenes include the same background music.

Contrast: For this edit we took a video of some birds sitting on top of a building. The second video was of Kelly running. Both of these scenes are different, but we forcing the viewer to keep up with two scenes that do not have anything in common.

Symbolism: For this edit we took a zoomed in video of a picture of a big white dog, called a great pyrenees. Then we transitioned to a video of Zoe's dog. The dog represents Zoe's dog.

Week 4 Preparing to Film

When it comes to the actors of the opening, we will have two: a girl (main character) and boy (villain). We are still deciding who will be the actors in our film, but we will finalize them soon. The costumes used in the film will be damaged/bloodied clothing on both the girl and boy, as well as the clean version of both for the flashback scenes. In regard to the props used in the opening, we will be using a fake knife as the villain's weapon, basic objects to make the background look normal, and fake blood. We will be filming a normal and bright area for the flashbacks and a darker area to give a more suspenseful and mysterious effect. At the moment we are undecided on when we plan on filming the opening, but we will know very soon. We will not be writing a script since there is not any dialogue between the characters in the film, except for the girl screaming at certain points. Movie Opener Final Draft

Spiked Movie Opening Changes Made In order to make the poisoning of the victim more clear and obvious, we took new clips off the killer putting the poison in the victim's cup. We also combined those clips with new clips of Kelly, our victim, being sick. Our new movie clip included the title of our movie, as well as the name of the actors in the movie opening.
